I'm always on the lookout for other single professionals who still like the bar scene, so we're definitely in th same boat.
After you create your account, you'll be able to customize options and access all our 15,000 new posts/day with fewer ads. get out of the bars and into activities where you can actually meet people and develop shared interests: -Join adult sports leagues... I can't even count the number of couples I know who met in these leagues. In loud nightclubs, with music blaring, lights flashing, not to mention alcohol flowing, our physiology can literally lead us to make very poor decisions about the people we meet.
I like Richmond, but that's as a 41 year old with a wife and kid. -Meetup.com, yes tons of people actually do this and you can definitely meet the opposite gender. This is definitely not the best way to meet new people.
What is the dating scene in DC like in comparison since you've been there?
A little about me; I'm from the area, but not close enough in to se high school buddies out at bars.
I went to GMU in DC but came back in 04 when I graduated, just because it's cost-prohibitive for entry level employees to make it in DC. I moved into the fan too because I wanted to be closer-in and I've definitely enjoyed it more than the west end.
Most people use them to make that initial contact, then after they've gotten a few friends they don't really stick with the groups.
The only problem I guess I'm having is most of my friends are marrying out on me or just get really involved with their churches and stuff; it's harder to get them to come out than it was. I thought getting a job offer in a bigger city would be a little easier but it looks like I'll be here for the foreseeable future.
