3.3.32. Discharge of water from the fuel filter

It is necessary to merge water from the fuel filter every 12 months, and to replace it – through each 30 000 km of a run.

Water discharge

1. Establish under the fuel filter capacity for collecting water.
2. Unscrew the screw for production of air at the top of the filter and a stopper for discharge of water in the bottom of the filter and to merge about 100 cm3 of water.

Not to merge all contents of the filter!

3. Screw traffic jams for discharge of water and production of air.

After removal of water from the fuel filter it is not necessary to let out the air from fuel system.

Replacement of the filter

1. Turn out the filtering element from the filter case by means of a special chain key.

The filter is to the brim filled with diesel fuel. To take out it it is careful, having enclosed dry rags.

2. Check existence and correctness of installation of a plastic ring (1). If it is weakened, to screw it a hand against the stop in a heating element (2).
3. Screw the new filtering element and to fill the filter with fuel. Slightly to moisten rubber laying before installation with fuel.

To establish the filtering element without average sealing ring and a lock ring which are included in the package of spare parts of the car and are used in the old Opel filters which do not have heating.

4. Remove air from fuel system.
5. Check a power supply system for lack of leaks.
