3.3.28. Removal and installation of nozzles

GENERAL INFORMATION

Faulty nozzles can cause strong knock during the operation of the engine and damage bearings. At malfunction of nozzles the engine needs to be started and to serially turn off cap nuts at nozzles. Disappearance of knock will indicate the failed nozzle. Faulty nozzles can also be found at the accelerated idling turns. If when weakening a cap nut at the next nozzle turns do not change, so this nozzle is faulty. Besides, work of nozzles can be checked by means of the special manometer (in a workshop).

Signs of malfunction of nozzles:

 – lack of ignition;
 – knock in one or several cylinders;
 – engine overheat;
 – falling of engine capacity;
 – the increased fuel consumption.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear pipelines of nozzles.
2. Disconnect pipelines; to turn off cap nuts the cut-through cap key, for example Hazet 612-17х19.

Prevention

Not to bend pipelines.


3. Disconnect drain pipelines.
4. Turn out nozzles by means of a face key on 27 mm, for example Hazet 450.
5. Remove a shaped washer, the heat-shielding plug and copper sealing washers.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish a new sealing washer under a nozzle.
2. Install the heat-shielding plug so that its smaller diameter was turned to a cylinder head, i.e. down.
3. Install additional a copper sealing washer on the heat-shielding plug.
4. To enclose a new shaped washer in the heat-shielding plug deepening up.
5. Screw nozzles and to tighten the moment 70 Nanometers.
6. Tighten pipelines of nozzles the moment of 25 Nanometers.

THE DIESEL TC4EE1 WITH THE TURBO-SUPERCHARGING

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove an inlet collector. Disconnect pipelines of high pressure, having turned off cap nuts a pro-carved cap key, for example Hazet 612-17х19.

Prevention

Not to bend pipelines.


2. Turn off lock-nuts of the drain pipeline and to remove it.
3. Turn out nozzles by means of a special key of Opel KM-728.
4. Remove shaped and sealing washers.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Put new sealing and new shaped washers on an opening under a nozzle.
2. To insert a nozzle into an opening so that the tag 1 on a nozzle coincided with a tag 2 on a head of cylinders.
3. To delay clips of nozzles with the help of a special key of Opel KM-728 the moment of 50 Nanometers. At the same time to hold a nozzle a wrench.

Prevention

It is impossible to turn a nozzle. Tags on a nozzle and a head of cylinders have to coincide.


4. Establish new laying on the drain pipeline and to tighten its moment 35 Nanometers.
5. Connect pipelines and to tighten cap nuts the moment of 25 Nanometers.
6. To replace sealing laying on inlet branch pipes and to tighten bolts of fastening of branch pipes the moment of 30 Nanometers.
