3.3.17. Check of the directing plugs of valves

GENERAL INFORMATION

At repair of a head of cylinders in connection with violation of tightness between valves and their saddles it is necessary to check degree of wear of the directing plugs of valves. It is especially important for engines with a big run. Big wear in the directing plugs of valves leads to a distortion of valves in their saddles and conducts to the raised consumption (leak) of oil. If excess wear is found, it is necessary either to deploy plugs, or to replace them.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Measure the internal diameter of the directing plugs.
2. Develop an opening in the plug to the following repair size (see the tab. Diameter of the plug). Expansion it is necessary to carry out from above heads of cylinders that the most exact size always was in the region of a saddle of the valve.
3. After expansion it is necessary to bring down old marking of plugs and to put new.

Prevention

If the directing plugs are deployed, installation of valves with a big diameter of a midstream is necessary.
